About me
A freelance and creative writer who works from BC's Fraser Valley on unceded q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie) land, surrounded by forest and family.
Lynn Easton is a poet and creative non-fiction writer who lives in a the middle of a small forest in rural Maple Ridge BC. A graduate of the SFU Writer’s Studio, her work can be found in print anthologies and literary magazines including the Malahat Review where she was awarded the CNF Constance Rooke Prize. She's also a former award-winning journalist and columnist who occasionally still dabbles in freelance work for newspapers and trade magazines.
Supporting writing communities is important to Lynn. She is a former ‘Roomie’ who volunteered for several years with Room Magazine. She facilitates writing sessions in Maple Ridge for a group of talented women from around the world who write in community as part of the Writing Home project. And she loves being a co-host for Words in the Burbs, a literary open mic in Metro Vancouver she helped create along side writing buddy Christina Myers and with the invaluable help of Tamara Gorin of Western Sky Books.
